Souvenir shops with products from the sandalwood tree – a symbol of Mysore can be found everywhere, but the best thing going for them in the Government Art Salon Kaveri (Government Cauvery Arts) and the shopping center on Sayaji Rao Road (closed on Thursdays), which offers a rich selection of works by local art allowed to be exported abroad. The famous city market Devaradzha (Devaraja Market) at Sayaji Rao Road – one of the most colorful food markets of southern India, where you can buy virtually anything that gives generous land of Hindustan seen by the Buses from Bangalore to Thirupathi.
